2 Antique Sterling Silver Scenic Thimbles
by Waite, Thresher Co. * Circa 1890s
Both of these sterling thimbles have embossed rims and the bands are engraved with scenic designs. Both have water and sailing boats but one has a bridge and lighthouse and the other has a church & other buildings. Inside the top of both is marked 'Sterling' and they have the star logo of the Waite, Thresher Co. of Providence, Rhode Island. The sizes are also stamped there (7 & 10).
The condition of both is nice with no holes, repairs or other damage. Both of these thimbles are shown on p. 115 (plate 6) of Gay Ann Rogers' book American Silver Thimbles. Neither thimble has been personalized.
