2 Heinz Pickle Pins Vintage Early Plastic Green & Brownish Clip Pin (lot 5):
This sale is for the 2 vintage Heinz pickle pins as shown, probably from the mid 1900's. They are plastic, vary from mid to dark green, and some are almost brown. I'm pairing a green with a brownish one. The pins are not the more modern safety pins, but set in ones with a straight clasp...one end fits under the other. I recall these from my childhood (mid century!).
Heinz early pickle pins and pendants were made as give-aways for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (Columbian Exposition), and World's Fairs in 1896, 1898, as well as 1939. They are still being made and distributed, but are now more uniform color plastic. Information that follows and pictures give more details.2 of the last 3 pictures show different ages of pickle pins/pendants and brief descriptions. I have some (or lots) of each kind to list. I'm not an expert on these and would appreciate more info. The last picture shows a collection of Heinz collectibles. I plan to list most, but it might take some time. Please ask if you have interest in any.
