2 Rare Meissen Porcelain Watteau Scene & Pink & Gold Egg Vases Jars Porzellans--one perfect, one as sale is a pair ofsuperb and very raretea jars or lidded vases made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century.Theyare hand painted with a superb light pink background with lots of fancy gilding and three cartouches of which two are handpainted with floral/cherub arrangements and the last but certainly not the least with a superb Watteau style scene with two cherubs in a cloud surrounding.The legs are nice on one, and the other egg has one broken(we have the leg as shown)as well with a branch going up them ending in raised flowers on top. Theset is in wonderful condition with only one slight roughness at the top opening of the gold detailing aroundthe lip of the gold ring around the opening. It feels as though someone may have taped the lid on and it might be part of the old tape--used water to clean it off, but it feels rough still--and of course, the broken leg on one that could easily be professionally repaired.The original lids are perfect as well. Thebottoms aremarked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath the eggs, not the legs.Measures 5.75 inches tall (including the lid) and has a diameter of 3 inches.PLEASE WAIT TO PAY UNTIL WE HAVE SENT YOU AN INVOICE.
