Occupied Japan collectiblesa pair of Japanese red lacquered wooden traysTwo Japanese lacquered trays. The square trays are brick red and black on the bottom. The larger square tray measures 13 x 13 inches and stands 3 inches tall. There is a mon, a heraldic emblem in a circle, in black on one edge. There is wear to this tray and some cracks along one edge, especially visible from the bottom of the tray. The smaller square tray measures 10 x 10 inches and stands 1 5/8 inches tall. There are chips and losses to the corners and cracks at the edges, however, both of these trays present a very handsome appearance.These trays were purchased in the 1960s in Japan though they are likely older than that.Condition: Please see description above.
