A wide, fabric
trim, embroidered with a traditional pattern. Wool embroidery on cotton duck
fabric.
Chain stitch embroidery has long been associated
with the Indian region of Kashmir. The artisan who stitched this design was working in that historic tradition.
A note about the trim edges: This is a
fabric, not ribbon, trim. The fabric edges will need to be turned under when
you stitch the trim onto your project.
Since fabrics with woolen, crewel embroidery
were popular in English and colonial American households in the 17th
and 18th centuries, these trims may be just what you need for your
period home furnishings.
