We sell containers only, no accessory isincluded.

Since a "normal" cupcakes size is different from 1 person to another, the actual dimensions of the containeris posted in the listing.

Does the base of the container have something to hold a cupcake in place?

Since the container can be usedfor many purposes: cupcakes, mini cakes or any other deserts, it does nothavea base to holda cupcake in place. However, to prevent the cupcake from sliding, you can use double tape or non-toxic glue between the paper cake base and the container base. Glue Dots Brand works really well, you can apply and removeit easily without tearing the paper cup. You can find glue dots in any craft store.

Does the container's lid snap-on securely ordoes itjustlay on top of the base?

The lid fits on top of the base snugly. However we do not recommend lifting the container by the lid with a cake in it.
