Libertads are a unique investment. While they provide silver value, there is a tremendous intrinsic value as well. Libertads are unique in the world because they have a long heritage as well as a dedicated following. Perhaps what drives the most intrinsic (numismatic value) is their low mintages. Frequently, mintages have been limited to a miniscule 10,000 coins for the 1oz proof version. In several years, many Libertad coins were limited to 1000 coins and even as low as 100, yes, 100 coins (1999 5oz Proof)!
What does this mean to you as a collector or prospective collector? Protection for your investment and preservation of your savings. If you consider the 1 oz American Silver Eagle, the most popular collector's coin in the world, in 2010 there were 34,764,500 stamped out for the Bullion version and 860,000 Proof coins minted! The same year, there were only 1 million Bullion and ONLY 10,000 proof 1 oz Libertads minted.
It was recently announced after 20 consecutive years, the Banco de Mexico will not be minting the fractional, 2 & 5 oz proof coins. No 5 piece Libertad proof sets will be available either.
The lack of minting these already very limited mintage proof coins means the previous years automatically have become much more valuable. Don't believe it? If you follow the Gold/Silver Eagle market, any time a dramatic event like this takes place, the previous years immediately become more valuable.
The fact that these coins are already limited in mintage, the price will not only be preserved, but will appreciate over time. The Libertad series are equivalent to fine art. You may have heard recently "The Scream" by Edvard Munch recently sold at sale for $120 Million! Several other high profile works of art have been selling at record prices as well. This is what the ultra rich are doing with their money to preserve and protect it from inflation as the global Federal Reserves have their printing presses running at blinding speeds.
While you may not be able to afford The Scream, you can afford one of these beautiful coins and preserve your money's value. I encourage you to do your research on Libertads to understand their unique position as a hedge against inflation.

SHIPPING & HANDLING FEES EXPOSED:
A quick word on shipping & handling fees. Regardless of what may want you to believe, there is a cost for shipping and handling. has created the illusion that S/H is free, when in actuality, it comes out of the margin from the sale price.
If you aren't a regular seller, you may not be aware that also takes a hefty percentage off the sale priceANDthe shipping & handling fees. Additional fees are then taken out by PayPal..everybody has to get their piece of the pie.
Some may say, I'd be happy to pay for shipping, but why do you charge a handling fee? Well folks, that packaging, bubble wrap, tape, labels, toner, gas/petrol to drop off your shipments at the post office, etc. and my time is included in the handling fee. If you can find a place to get all of this stuff for free, I'd be happy to comp you whatever is left over after takes their chunk out of the fees. Until I can find a free source for this stuff, I need to charge a nominal fee to cover my costs.
