Nearly three years ago I purchased a fair sized group of pieces from the estate of an avid African Art collector who lived worked and collected in various locations in Africa from the 1950s to the 1990s when he moved back to the USA. After his death the very large collection of 5000+ pieces was put in storage for approximately 10 years until it was sold off in stages. These African items have been hidden away and are now waiting for you! They capture the life and the spirit of fascinating cultures.What we have here is a Nicely Carved Male Figure from TANZANIA or CONGO Africa... good size at 21 1/8 inches tall for figure only, a little bit taller with the stand. This is a bold impressive carving with strong details and attractive patina. A nice piece that displays well. Condition shows wear... as with many African pieces there may be wear chips scratches bumps cracks insect damage repairs losses and imperfections etc as is common and part of the overall beauty and charm... see photos for overall condition. I do not know the age but is shows age. I do my best in my descriptions of the item and its condition but you yourself must be the ultimate judge of the item, its identity, its age, its completeness, and its condition by looking at the photos and/or asking any questions. Look at the photos and you decide to your best judgement what this is and what this is worth! As is common with digital cameras colors in photos may vary to a degree from the actual object.
