I am pleased to offer you thislovely oldantique bisque head Germandoll. Incised on the back of her bisquehead is a small number "28 and a small 8, then"Queen Louise,Germany with a number7 down below".Reference attributesthe name"Queen Louise" to German doll maker Armand Marseille, early 1900s, I am not certain if any other firms made "Queen Louise".Ido not know her pasthistory but will try to describe this doll and any flawsthe best I can.Measures 24" tall being a bisque socket head on jointed strung composition wood body.Doll is strung, jointed at the arms, elbows, wrists, legs and knees. The little finger on theleft hand is chipped off and missing, the middle finger scuffed on on tip and lots of wear throughout fingers. Theyare accented with red lines for that "life-like" look.Body shows some wear, scuffs throughout but is intact.Doll has a "sweet" face with high color blush, I see no paint rubs on her cheeks, she has fixed openbrown glasseyes with remains of upper mohair lashes, paintedlashes around the eyes, red accent dots in the corner of her eyes, brown feathered brows she has open mouth with upper teeth intact. There is a little dimple in her chin.A see alittle white plaster around the eye areas showing from the inside where eyes have been fixed to stay open, nothing terrible but I need to mention. Wears a long brunette human hair wig which is glued on a pate, it is lovely but not an antique wig.Ilooked inside this bisque head and do not see any cracks, it is quite dirty, plaster cement where eyes are fixed to remain open, there is some old glue residue around the head areas from old wig or pate.I see an old chip on the rim of the head (see vintage two piece dress with snaps down the back, pantaloons, stockings and blue felt shoes.I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. If you would like further photos or have questions please email me.Offering to you AS IS condition shown with sale.
