Here islovely old"Dorthia"looking for a "good home.Old hand written paper with dollsays"Dorthia Hazel Derringer, 1906". "Dorthia was named after her owner who made her dress, human hair wig". Incised on the back of her bisquehead is "Germany, G.B". Reference attributes "G.B" to George Borgfeldt and Company, 1881 to 1930. I will try to describe her the best I can. Measures just under 25" tall being a bisque socket head onjointedcomposition wood body,a strung doll who is jointed at the neck, arms, elobws, wrists, legs and knees. Body shows wear, scuffs, some old dirt but intact. Three fingers on the left hand are chipped off and "missing". A"sweet" face with "fixed" open blue glass eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, brown feathered brows, open mouth with upper teeth intact, and a faint little dimple in her chin. Nice color blush on her face. There are a few tiny dark specs throughout face but nothing terrible, I see no paint rubs on the cheeks, some old glue residue around the head.I notice aline crackabout 1/4" longon the right side of her head by the rim that has had plaster cement applied inside the head, I do not see any other cracks head is intact. Dirty inside there is plaster cement that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker at one time.Included areold blue glass sleepy eyes on rocker that wereattached to her slip in a tiny bag.The eyes look like they may fit I don't know. Her long dark brunette humanhair wig is old with some hairs out of place but charming."Dorthia" wears old red dot dress with safety pin closure down the back, worn torn slip that needs restoration or replacement, stockings and antiqueleather shoes. The ties in the shoes are replacement.I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description.
