Description: Handsome, vintage, silver lighter case for a Standard Maxi “Classic” BIC pocket lighter - see BIC lighter graphic for details.Case features a hand-made silver centerpiece in a flora motif with a .35” polished turquoise nugget and a .5” polished, oblong red coral cabochon. Both stones are set in raised, serrated silver bezels. Has repeated, hand-stamped Indian “Sun Rays” symbols on front, back and sides. Bottom is closed and has a .25” hole in the center for assisting in lighter removal.Bottom is also stamped “NAVAJO” (U.S. southwest; Arizona or New Mexico).There are no other material or artisan’s ID markings. Believe case to have been made in the early-1970s to mid-‘80s.

Condition: Very Good. Being hand-made of silver, there are the expected, subtle construction imperfections. Surfaces have been gently age-effected due to decades of handling and use. Case has a mild, uniform patina; it was cleaned and gently polished ten years ago. Seller bought item in 2002 and has since been in my BIC lighter case collection; now being liquidated.
