These Stonesare fromAfrica (Mozambique ) andis an VS2+/- (Type II). Where a new find of Paraiba Copper Bearing tourmaline Cuprian Elbaite has been discovered. In this deposit have been found many new colors of Cuprian Elbaite including; Pink, Purple, Reds, Lavenders, Yellows (After Heat) Peach and Padparadscha color stones. This is the same stone as was found in Paraiba Brazil (No longer producing material) around 1990 and in Nigeria (But contained more lead) around 2003 also nonproducing of now and thus it has been decidedthat they all can be called Paraiba tourmaline. For the purists I do specify this stone is from Mozambique, but, is a copper bearing tourmaline andjust as valuable as its Brazilian counterpart. It is still an extremely rare stoneas the other 2 mines are depleted of this material. The prices per carat are rising fast already commanding up to $10,000 per carat for cleanstones so snap this one up.It is very hard to find clean stones of this size and color. Itwill make a rare pendant, an outstanding ring or a nice piece to add to the collection. The coloris Bluish Green more stunning in very low light than direct light, extremely brilliant and beautiful. It weighs 3.02ct andis an extremely beautiful and even more rare and expensive stone. The glowand beauty of these stones is difficult to photograph and the stone is actually more beautiful in person. I will offer these while they last as I purchased a large parcel, but like the other 2 deposits will likely not last long so don\'t wait too long...

PARAIBA TOURMALINE BUYING GUIDELINES

When buying Paraiba’s, be sure to; 1) Ask if the stone is a \"Copper Bearing Tourmaline\" Answer has to be yes to be called Paraiba. 2) Verify Origin is Brazil (Mine was mined out in mid 90\'s), Nigeria (Nearly mined out very little production) or Mozambique (New deposit). If not from those 3 countries can\'t be a true Paraiba (Brazil does have a mine in a neighboring state to Paraiba that produces a NON Copper Bearing Tourmaline similar in color to the original Paraiba’s, but is NOT, but since it is close enough to Paraiba they call it that). Be cautious when; the words Paraiba and Tourmaline are not together i.e.; \"Paraiba Tourmaline\" (Good) vs. \"Paraiba Blue Tourmaline\" (Bad) it\'s not Paraiba Tourmaline, just Blue Tourmaline with a Similar color to Paraiba. The first by rule must be a true copper bearing tourmaline, the second does not because the two words are not together. They are still within rules; however, the title is a little deceptive when referring to Tourmalines. Now, the ruling authorities have ruled that all copper bearing tourmalines can be called Paraiba and thus when certified the cert will merely state Paraiba. That is ok, but, Brazilian material is far more valued than the other 2 materials. Nigerian is second and Mozambique 3rd. There are very expensive tests that can be done that can tell the specific origin, but are not cost effective. If you view my Copper Bearing Tourmalines I will state a) they are Copper Bearing Paraiba Tourmalines and 2) Their Origin and the price will vary per carat for each origin. Why do I tell you these things, because I wish to inform as many people as possible about the deceptive practices of some sellers and help add some credibility to online sellers. We do our utmost to accurately and honestly represent our products and hope all other sellers do the same. Thank you for looking at our products and we hope this, at least, helps you make an informed buying decision.
