Recently discovered in Gramma\'s attic - ORIGINAL VINTAGE Set of 3 WW2 USN U S Navy \"Mother\" Silk Handkerchiefs / Hankies in Red, Pink & White. These are ORIGINAL VINTAGE Items and are NOT reproductions.. I had several \"Great\" Uncles serve on all fronts during the war, so this is one of two who were in the Navy during that time that must have gotten these for my grandmother.. Fortunately they all returned after the war, grandma must have put in a keepsake box and forgot about them.. I recently discovered them and was told that these have not been seen easily in 65+ years. Will make a wonderful addition for that special WW2 / USN collector.. Usually purchased as US Navy Exchange as a gift set, there are 3 of these hankys : Red, Pink and White.. Each measures appx 9 inches by appx 9 inches unfolded with white embroidered \"MOTHER\" with the USN Anchor and \"U S NAVY\" along with scalloped embroidered edges.. PLEASE SEE PICTURES AND ITEM CONDITION !! Please email ANY questions and I will do best to answer.. During WWII, many handkerchiefs were made from more durable nylon or other synthetic fabrics. Remember these were keepsakes, not utilitarian, and many were kept stashed away until the service member returned home.. Please be aware - ORIGINAL period pieces - these are ORIGINAL WW2 Items and are NOT reproductions - they have been in storage folded up for over 65+ years - although still in excellent condition, there are some very minor \"spots\" - light brown spots most noticeable on the back of the white hanky, some of the same on the pink - there is also some very small blue spots on the pink as well. No real noticeable spots on the red hanky.. All 3 have been folded and will need to possibly be cleaned and straightened..
