3 Clasp General Service Medal To Intelligence Corps Bem Winner For Sale
A superb 3 clasp General service medal 1962-2007, clasps Malay Peninsular, Borneo & Northern Ireland (last clasp loose) named to “23893692 Cpl W.R.Grey Int Corps Duplicate” awarded the British Empire medal for Gallantry LG 1st May 1973 “For gallant service in Northern Ireland during the period 1st August 1972 to 31st October 1972” due to the sensitive nature of the int Corps work in Northern ireland, no citation is available at present, however when they are released it should prove very interesting! It transpires that his original medal was lost in a fire and this is the official duplicate that was issued to him. Included is an official letter from the Int Corps museum and copy of his obituary confirming military service, postings etc. Promoted from WO Class1 to 2/Lt on 3rd April 1981 and to Captain 3rd April 1983, retired 3rd April 1986 Listed in the LG 11th Sept 1990 as a captain in the 1st cadet Bn Royal Irish Rangers. Comes with electronic copies of London gazette entries, paper copies from Int Corps museum and photocopy of Obituary. More photographs available on request.

My apologies, the London Gazette entry reads: The QUEEN has been graciously pleased to approve the award of the -British Empire Medal (Military Division)in recognition of meritorious service in Northern Ireland during the period 1st August 1972 to 31st October 1972. Not gallantry, as stated above, I misread the paragraph above his name in the London gazette.
