DESCRIPTION:
We are pleased to offer this lovely papier-mache shoulder head girl doll, Circa 1860+ Germany. I do not know her past restoration history but will try to describe her the best I can with any flaws. Measures a large 31\" tall being a papier-mache shoulder head, (possibly a wax over), doll has papier-mache lower arms with scuffed fingers & finger tips throughout both hands. You may wish to do a little finger restoration to your liking. She has cloth and straw stuffed body and wears black boots which are part of her legs. I notice restoration was made on the upper part of her body and upper arms, this cloth restoration was nicely done. Her legs are stitched jointed at the knees, they are together but the thread seems a little loose, further sewing may be needed at the knees. This girl as a absolutely beautiful face with big blue inset glass eyes, red accent dots in the corner of her eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, she has feathered brown brows (right brow paint is worn off), and closed mouth with accent line through the lips. The once \"wax over\" has worn away as you often find which makes the skin tone a little lighter and darker in places on the shoulder head. Her long \"human hair\" wig has center stitched part, it retains some waves, so old & worn but still charming. There is a hair ribbon on each side. I do not see any cracks on this shoulder head, I do not know if any past paint restoration was done, I do not know her history. She wears a lovely antique off white dress with embroidery accents, it has buttons intact down the back. I see a rip on the left side of the dress, if you would like a photo please email. There is a close match full slip with buttons down the back and pantaloons with draw string waist. I have taken plenty of photos, please look at my photos to serve as part of this description. This larger size papier-mache shoulder head girl has such an \"innocent\" look, she displays well, and she would be a \"Treasure\" for your collection or display!
