Elegant,vintage,storm door salvaged from an old home in NorthEastern Missouri. The door ismade of solid pine and still retains most of it\'s original stain and finish. Ithas a removable window which has tempered glass, and a cool, carved panel belowfeaturing a carved \"X\". The carved design differs on both sides of the panel.When most people hear \"pine\" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pinehewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don\'t have the same insect-resistant,rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from treeshundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than youngpine.
The manufacturer\'s stamp on the glass indicates that the glasswas made in 1966, so the door should\'ve been made around that time as well.
Althoughthe door doesn\'t have a removable screen-window, we could build one--emailus for a quote.Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware.However,we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door (checkout ourstore).

Condition:Originally, there were 2 plastic latches or hooks to keep the removable windowin place. One of the latches broke, and the former owner remedied this byinstalling a metal, surface-mounted thumb-turn latch. Although it\'s morenoticeable than the original plastic latch, it still does the job and will lastlonger because it\'s metal.
The door itself is in great shape and only has thetypical nicks, scrapes, scratches,small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes--which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted.
The glass is fully intact and in great condition. It\'s noteasy to damage tempered glass!
