3x Ww1 Navy Sweetheart Brooches - Silver/gold, Enamel And Brass - Hmd Millburn:
3x WW1 NAVY SWEETHEART BROOCHES - SILVER/GOLD, ENAMEL AND BRASS - HMD MILLBURN
Welcome to our sale!
For offers today we have a trio of WW1 sweetheart brooches!
These brooches are all attributed to the Navy and would have been worn by a sailors wife or best gal.
The first is a circular Mother of Pearl badge with an enamel and brass Navy motif in the centre.
3cm wide it shows a little nibbling to the Mother of Pearl edge and very slight enamel wear but neither is serious.
Next up is a Sterling silver and gold wash brooch.
This one dates to 1916 and is attributed to the HMD Millburn.
We assumed "HMD" stood for His Majesty's Destroyer however we can't find a record for a Destroyer called Millburn?
The brooch itself is in good shape but will need a clean. It's also missing one of the scroll decorations but this isn't too noticable.
Lastly we have a brass triangle pin, 5cm long.
A bow at the top holds the triangle pendant which in turn has the Navy motif in the centre.
Again this one needs a shine up, the pin has been bentand much of the enamel in the motif has gone but it's still an interesting piece.
