#4 Bullet Kodak Roll Film Or Glass Plate 1896-1900 103 Film Internal Focus For Sale
#4 Bullet Kodak roll film or glass plate 1896-1900 103 film internal focus
A #4 Bullet Kodak roll film or glass plate camera, made from 1896-1900. Uses 103 film which is no longer available. An original roll of 103 film is still inside. May have been exposed. Would be fun to find out. Has internal focus by way of a lever on top. The entire film cage slides. This was one of the earliest cameras to use roll film. You could buy the rolls in a camera store. They were called cartridges then. Took 18 exposures, 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches. I can also be used with glass plate film, and there is a provision and window for this purpose. Has a simple snap shutter, working, a B lever and three hole stops. The front pulls off easily to see the mechanism. This film cage is very difficult to open. Has hidden buttons and tricky manauvering. There are hidden buttons on top and everywhere. So, when I ship, the film cage will not be snapped shut.. When you figure out how to close it, you will see all the buttons. It measures about 10 X 6 X 5 inches. The surface was very rough so I conditioned it with a strong dye and a special wax of very high quality. It looks almost like new now. All the covering is present. Nothing missing except a tiny piece just where the cover button is. . Has 2 reflex windows, a distance scale, and a film winder. There is no film counter or ruby window so the film winding must be by number of turns. This is an extremely rare Kodak. I've never seen one before.
