Hello and thank you for looking at our sale. You are offerding on a FABULOUS 1.34 ct old transitional cut diamond ring in a massive, wide estate mount containing over 2.50 carats of premium grade rounds and baguette cut diamonds. I have decided to move some of my inventory as I simply do not get to wear these fantastic pieces as much as I would like. The center diamond is an "old tranny', my favorite cut. It measures 7.22 millimeters wide and weighs 1.34 carats removed from the mount. The clarity is VS2 with minimal, if any imperfections visible under a loupe. The color is probably in the K/L range. In some lighting it is completely colorless and in other lighting there is a bit of warmth to the stone. See pics below for details. If you are opposed to color, this probably isn't the ring for you but if you are like me and prefer tremendous fire with a touch of warmth to your diamonds, then you will love this ring. The diamond is incredible. The cut is beyond perfect and there is full bodied fire at any angle. Chunky facets but without the tall crown you see in old mine and some euro cuts. The wide table gives the stone the look of a 1.50 carat or better. The mount contains eighteen round cut diamonds measuring between 3.30 and 2.45 millimeters and ten (10) straight cut baguette diamonds measuring between 3.80 and 3.10 millimeters. These diamonds have a combined weight of 2.60 carats and they are all VS1 to SI1 in clarity and G/H/I in color. My photos do not do this piece justice. One of the baguettes has a tiny fleabite on the edge but this is only loupe visible. The mount is an authentic vintage piece that I had re-shanked several years ago. The shank measures 10 millimeters wide all the way around as I tend to like wider rings. The face of the ring measures almost 13 millimeters across. This is a WIDE, BOLD piece. Truly a quality ring and one you simply can't find anymore. It is currently a size 5.75 but because of the width of the band, it fits a size 4.5. If you need the ring resized, we can do this for you but we suggest you go UP at least one size of what your normally wear. The gram weight is a substantial 12.3 grams of solid 14k white gold. The total diamond weight is 3.94 carats and the estimated retail replacement value of this ring is approximately $36,000
Circa 1940 - 1950
