Hi! My name is Marie Leahy. I am the owner and president of Uncle Sam's Heart and Soul, INC. I chose this name because it encompasses my strong beliefs in God, Country and my fellow man. Starting up my eBusiness has been an exciting adventure. After retirement, I knew I needed to find something that would keep me alert, challenged, involved and active as well as replace lost salary. My new career as an entrepreneur embraces these goals.
I come from a background of 35 years in the public school system as an instructor. I have taught everything from kindergarten to HS Advanced Mathematics. Most of my teaching has been in secondary Mathematics. I really loved teaching. I have received recognition for my teaching expertise and leadership skills as evidenced by the receiving of numerous awards such as by the Gates Leadership award, the Mid-Columbia Education Alliance Outstanding Teacher and the Crystal Apple award. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and my Master's degree in Administration from Eastern Washington University at Cheney, WA.
My husband (of 47 years) and I reside in a rural community in South Eastern Washington with our two dogs, Maggie (pug) and Sadie (standard poodle). We have three grown children. Recently we became the very proud grandparents of four beautiful grandchildren.
