This is a heavy service of French silver, it is 950/1000 a higher standard than sterling which is 925/1000. It is all hallmarked with the Head of Minerva, 1st standard and the makers mark in a lozenge, I have not identified the maker, it is a P with a torch and another letter.There is also a Bigorne mark which may bethe Criquet. This is a service for 15. Included are 15 forks 7 1/4", 15 large spoons 7 1/2"and 15 Teaspoons.6". for a total of 45 pieces, it is heavy weighting 71 troy ounces solid 950 silver. They all have an ornate raised French Monogram on the back of the handles and thebluebell? design on the front of the handle. All pieces have a gold wash, most of the gold is intact, some of the teaspoons have some rubbing to the gold wash in the bowls and the back of the bowls. They could use a cleaning otherwise good condition, no deep scratches, no dings etc. Some of the tines on the forks are not perfectly straight. Nice antique pieces could add an elegant twist to your existing silver serviceor just add some interesting knives and make a full service.
