45 Stereoview Box Set ~ World War I By Keystone 45 Cards, Vintage, Original For SaleI am under the impression that this is a full and complete set because the cards completely fill the box. There are 46 cards total, 1 duplicate, and to put them all in the box is a tight fit, therefore I believe 45 makes a complete set but I could be wrong. Below is what I know about these.
The Keystone View Company, Meadville, Pa, was founded in 1892 by B. Lloyd Singley. Stereographs consist of two nearly identical photographs or photo-mechanical prints to produce the illusion of a single three-dimensional image when viewed through a stereoscope. This rare and complete 48-card set depicts scenes of World War I. It was produced in 1921. The cards are stamped on the reverse with position number box, the series number 36-48-100-200-300, subject title and complete story behind the photo subject. The cards are in excellent condition with no folds, tears or water stains. They are enclosed in the original book-cover lid. Most of the time you find these cards sold individually, and rarely do we find them as a set in the original box.
See my other listing for a very nice, vintage stereoviewer.
