5 Pc. Lot Antique Victorian Pins, Sets, 1 Jelly-belly Turtle W/pend. & Earrings For Sale
I will address the obvious first, and that is the blue turtle set. I have had the pin in my possession for about a year, and what is actually strange and fascinating at the same time is the fact that I just recently acquired the pendant and earrings at an entirely different estate sale. What are the chances??... And in the many photos I have included with this listing, you can see that the pieces almost exactly match each other. The "jelly-bellies" are hard plastic and probably not quite as clear as they once were. This is more noticeable on the pin. The details on the tails, legs and heads are the same right down to the tiny red enamel eyes (missing on one eye on 1 earring). The pin has a Victorian "c" clasp and measures 1+1/4/ by 1+3/4 inches and sits up about 1/2 inch. The pendant is 3/4 inch by 1+1/8 inches and the earrings are screwbacks. All of these pieces have a lot of patina. The other pin I am including here is also unusual and also has a "c" clasp (see 6th photo) and some age on it. It measures 1+1/2 inches across and appears to be solid brass. AS you can see in the close-up of the front, the details around the picture are ornate and in beautiful condition. The lion & other colorful details are slightly convex and the enamel gives them a cloisonne appearance. If you have any questions, please contact mevia email during the sale.
