54 Louisville & Nashville L&n Railway Railroad Tie Date, Code & Pole Nails Set For Sale

This is a fairset ofLouisville & Nashvilletie & poledate nails and code nails. Set includes54 nails, the earliest a 10, the latest tie nail a 39.The 40, 41, & 42 are pole nails and the A, 1, 4, 7 (upside down in the picture) and9are code nails. We are also including the 6 code nail which got left in the board and is not pictured.They would make a good addition to any railroadiana collection, nail collection or modeler's train room.

Only 3 have beencleaned with the vinegar method. The 26, two of the 27s the 31, 34, 37 & 42 all have some sort of coating on them. The rest have not been cleaned.Most are straight, a few are not. There is somepitting on most andextensive pitting on the 4 & 7 code nails. It is hard to tell the extent of pitting when a nail isn't clean, but most of these look pretty good.I would classify most of these nails as fair, some better,a fewworse. They arefairly hard to come by though and are stillnice and will display well, but you be the judge.
