So exactingly painted and finished, Darlene Lane’s 5.5” MIGNONETTE perfectly replicates the antique Pocket Dolls of the 1880s, the doll is all-bisque with blue glass set eyes, long palest-blonde mohair wig, painted ankle-boots with low heels, and a charming little coat-dress of candlelight brocade with ruched ribbon trim and a saucy hat. No damage and no repair.
Mignonette and her gift-card are hand-signed “Darlene Lane // 2008”, she has the tiniest painted lashes, feathered brows and two-tone lips, with sweet rosy cheeks; jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows & hips, elbow ball-joints are wooden, joints all work smoothly and hold a pose.
Darlene Lane made this little one in 2008 as a Prototype for the UFDC Region 6 Conference in Denver, CO, and she is a treasure, received from the artist, non-smoking environment.
