7 Antique 1882 Baseball Trade Cards Ad Peck & Snyder Sporting Goods Ny Cosack Co For SaleAubert sales Description Set of seven dated 1882 advertising trade cards portraying early baseball players in various field positions. They appear to be of no particular club and the flag that appears in the backgrounds of some has a BC on it which probably stands for 'Baseball Club'. The cards are adhered to white lined pages that have numbers in their corners and appear to be out of an old ledger. They are published by Cosack & Co Buffalo New York and entered according to act of Congress in 1882. They advertise a New York City Sporting Good Dealer PECK & SNYDER at 126, 128 & 130 Nassau Street. They measure 5 1/2" high x 3 3/8" wide. In general they are in very good condition overall but there are some flaws. The batter has a 1/8" x 3/8" portion missing from its right middle edge and BC penciled on his belt. The umpire behind the catcher has 'Umpire' penciled above him. There are some light scuffs and glue residue in some spots. Some of the corners are lightly rounded. Please see photos for further specifics.
