7 Foot K&e Polyphase 4053-3 Demonstration Slide Rule For Sale
Up for offer is a COMPLETE K&E 4053-3 polyphase demonstration slide rule. From sliderulemuseum.com I found the following:
These are enlarged versions of popular slide rule models that the manufacturers produced
and provided to schools to aid in teaching the use of slide rules. They were excellent
advertising tools for promoting the sales of the brand.
K&E demonstration slide rules, with Mannheim scales, date back as early as 1930,
when they appeared in the 1933 K&E catalogs as Model 100 and 101. (contributed by Clark McCoy).
the slide rules were typically made of Redwood, which is lighter in weight than
many other woods.
The 1936 catalog, although listing just the Model 100 and 101, has a note at the bottom
of the page stating Demonstration slide rules, with the scales of the K&E Log Log Trig (equivalent to the 4080)
and Log Log Decitrig Slide Rules (equivalent to the 4081), are also available.
The 1962 catalog, calls the 4053 Model 100 now as 69-1944, the 4081 Log Log Decitrig Slide
Rules as 68-1923, and a new Demonstration Slide Rule for the Decilon 68-1100, called Model 68-1929 is now available.
This slide rule has very minimal wear due to it hanging in an engineer's office from where I purchased it. It is a very unique piece of engineering history and never needs batteries!
Please note: is now requiring all items to have an item condition. I have no control of the describing words they use, which vary category to category, and may not be the most accurate. (For example, "used" in electronics says: "Used: An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended"). My description is the most accurate and should be used as a reference of the item(s) conditions.
I have had users ask me to "cancel my offer" or "I can not pay for this now due to a financial issue, so please cancel this transaction". Although I understand issues do arise, I WILL NOT CANCEL offerS or TRANSACTIONS. allows for offer retractions under certain circumstances (search "offer retraction" in help pages) or, any unpaid item will be closed using the automated non-paying-buyer process.
Before offerding, please take the time to read the information below, it is not just "fine print". I am not trying to hide any of my policies, and by offerding you are agreeing to them. So please ask me if you have questions, and thanks for your interest in my sale.
Now for the B.S. ( boring stuff! ) I collect my items from sales, yard sales, flea markets and the like! I am by no means an expert on anything, (don't tell my wife!), so I can't vouch for the accuracy of my descriptions! I try to be as descriptive as possible, but I may miss things on occasion. If there is any item you need more pictures of, let me know and I'll try to help! Don't email me 5 minutes before the sale ends asking for pics, I'm not that good! I package all items as best as I can to prevent damage. I ship everything with delivery confirmation in the US, my cost. Insurance is the buyer's responsibility. Due to the varied nature of my items, and the complexity of trying to test everything, they are sold AS-IS! If you have questions, please ask! I will do my best to answer them! NO refunds unless I have grossly misrepresented an item. If you offer and win, please pay. And as always, Thanks For Looking!!
