75"x96" Pair Antique Victorian Cherry Pocket Doors Etched Glass Lite Window Pane:
Penn Antique Restoration 75"x 96" Pair Antique Pocket Cherry Doors w/ Long Etched Glass Lites & 3 Panels
Lovely pair of antique, pocket doors salvaged from a historic home in NorthEastern Pennsylvania. Each door has a solid cherry core with 1/4" oak veneers on one side and 1/4" cherry veneers on the other, has 3 panels (1 recessed & 2 raised), and 2 long etched glass lites.
Unfortunately, one of the etched glass lites is broken. I do not think that it could be replaced, but we could order a new glass lite (i.e. beveled, tempered, leaded, stained, etc.) and install it--email us for a quote.
Hardware: The doors are currently not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our store and tons more in our physical store.
* If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid
block of antique pine,--see "Modification" below.
Condition: On one side of one of the doors, there is a crack on the top of the hinge stile; one of the glass lites is broken; and the bottom hinge stile, the bottom rail, the bottom of the lock stile are chipped. On the other side of the same door, the top and bottom of the hinge stile, bottom rail, and bottom of the lock stile are chipped.
On one side of the other door, there is a long scratch along the top rail and another on the hinge stile; there is a break on the bottom of the lock stile; the bottom of the hinge stile is chipped. On the other side, the top of the hinge stile is chipped; there is a break on the top of the lock stile; the bottom of the hinge stile is chipped and cracked; the edge of both the hinge and lock stiles are chipped; the bottom of the lock stile is chipped; and there is a crack in the hinge stile.
Otherwise, these doors are strong, sturdy, and in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process, or disguised after a fresh coat of paint.
Quirks & Considerations: The edges of each lock stile were cut in an odd way. The height of the door was unevenly cut at some point, most likely to accommodate for a settling foundation or warped floor.--We could fix both of these. See "Modification" below.
Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this sale as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
Modification: We could also modify these doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, install glass, add a mullion and molding, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, add decorative embellishments, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
