I’ve selected eight sets from the massive collection I bought from an estate in Columbus, Indiana a little over a year ago. We’ll look at them individually but maybe shown with a bunkmate.
Both set above are pristine. Saucers = 5 ½”
Cups / Bowls = ± 3 ¼” by 2” deep
Both are pristine. One bowl and its saucer is ever so slightly smaller, but essentially, both saucers are 5 ½”, with 3 ½” by 2” cups. The set on the left was sold by Frank A. Empsall & Co., of Watertown, New York.
More images and commentary continue below my three "Prime Directives:"
1st: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and rarely do I ask for an opening offer of more than $9.00 (sometimes even less).
2nd: I never end sales early.
3rd: I don’t usually clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything. I push enough dust aside to expose any flaws, but if I discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, I'll tell you about it.
So rest easy and have some fun.
That is the only pedestal foot in the bunch, and what a beauty it is.
Cup diameter = over 3 ¾” - Saucer is 5 ½” +
The two sets, left and middle, are in pristine condition. However, the saucer for that ugly one on the right has a chip. Well, Dang! Oh well, its saucer is too big anyway, so the heck with it.
I better quit. I’m starting to have too much fun.
You’ll be thrilled.
