This injector fits 1986, 87 and 1988 X180 Esptit Turbo Federal, and Australian 1989\' Esprit Turbos, all Lotus 910 engines with Bosch CISInjection.

New, & never installed on any engine/ vehicle, no corrosion, not a surplus.

Listed as a\"New-other\", because of engineering rework performed to make them identical to the obsolete/discontinued Bosch PN 0437502031. PN obliterated.

Specs: 35 degree fuel spray cone, cracks open at 3.3-3.7 bar, M12x1.5mm thread.

Guaranteed to work properly on your 4 cyl Esprit engine.

NOTE: You have to salvage air shrouds from your old injectors (the shiny \"hats\" at the pintle end of the injector). They are two piece assembly, press fitted. Removal instructions will be provided with your purchase. Be careful, not to bend them during removal. Esprit engine requires these air shroudsand WILL NOT run without them! Also, re-use \"C\" clips from your old injectors.

4 \"fat\" upper and 4 thin graphite \"O\" ring kit is available for additional $36/set of four+four, please indicate if you need them.

On cars equipped w/Continuous Injection System (CIS) K-Jetronic, it is extremely important to have anadequate and balanced fuel flow to each cylinder. Unless all cylinders receive the same amount of fuel and air, some may lean out and fail catastrophically. Fuel distribution should not exceed a 5% cylinder-to-cylinder; lower is better.

You can\'t tune mechanical injectors, they are not adjustable and often the spring inside takes a set.

Bosch K-Jetronic is a rudimentary, but reliable system. This system doesn\'t have a “real” ECU. The computer in the box behind the driver seat, (often called “ECU”), is merely a Lambda Control Processor (LCP – for short), which adjusts the System Control Pressure via Frequency Valve duty cycle. LCP does not control ignition, nor has any sensors, as the later and more sophisticated systems, like CIS K, L, or Motronic.

Fuel supply (System Pressure) adjustments in the CIS system are made by a very precise metering device, Fuel Distributor. FD adjusts fuel delivery simultaneously across all 4 injectors/cylinders (batch adjustment).FD is not capable to “compensate” or differentiate flow to the individual injectors. If one injector is out of spec, the AFR is impossible to control.

Lambda Sensor reads summary median O2 exhaust content in the main exhaust stream (down pipe).

If there is a cylinder-to-cylinderimbalance caused by a faulty injector, the Lambda sensor cannot detect it and LCP can not compensate flow to the individual injector (drawback of the CIS injection system). Some cylinders will go lean detonating and overheating, which often results in burnt exhaust valves or burnt pistons.

Therefore air/fuel delivery to each cylinder has to be tested and balanced. Every cylinder must receive the same exact amount of air/fuel mix. Injectors have to be tested individually on a test bench,cleaned and matched to within 5% flow. Only thenO2 sensor readings can be trusted.
