from a simple kitchen cloths to the most beautiful linen sheets and table linens,care was taken to \"MARK THE TROUSSEAU\" with the couples initialsThe trousseauwhetherhumble or extravagant was brought by the bride and remained her property.
This tradition carried on until the early 20th century.
NO WHERE ELSE IN EUROPE DO YOU FIND THIS TRADITION OF MONOGRAMMED LINEN TO THIS EXTENT.
THE NAPKINS AND TABLECLOTHS I FIND BELONG TO THIS TRADITION, MOST DATE FROM LATE 19th TO EARLY 20th century.
