From the maker's website:
"We are a family of silversmiths from Jerusalem creating unique Judaica products from sterling silver.
Each of our items is hand-crafted to form its shape, then embellished with traditional Yemenite filigree detail. Every intricate piece of filigree is weaved, twisted or contoured by hand before being soldered onto the articles separately in a tradition has been passed (down in/through) our family from generation to generation.
The gemstones we decorate with are authentic precious and semi-precious stones, and the gold inside our Kiddush cups (to safeguard the flavour of the wine) is pure 24 carat."
In Jewish tradition, honey is a symbol for the new year, Rosh Hashanah. At the traditional meal for that holiday, apple slices are dipped in honey and eaten to bring a sweet new year. Some Rosh Hashanahgreetings show honey and an apple, symbolizing the feast. In some congregations, small straws of honey are given out to usher in the new year.
