From an Estate Sale of 19TH CENTURY/EARLY 20TH CENTURY China & Glass, we offer a "NIPPON"(Morimura Bros.) JAPANESE Bone China 4 1/2" high x 5 1/2" wide FOOTED TEAPOT with LID, with a GORGEOUS ALL OVER HANDPAINTED MORIAGE design of RAISED GOLD BEADING, red & pink roses and dark & pale green leaves on an octagon shaped blank. Marked with Nippon "Maple Leaf" hallmark - according to the Marks4cermics Identification Service, this mark was used on pieces made from the 1870's-1910's.
This 93-143 YEAROLD teapot is in EXCELLENT CONDITION without any cracks, chips, nicks, staining or crazing; with very little use apparent - HANDPAINTED MORIAGE DESIGN ALMOST COMPLETELY INTACT - GOLD beading and trim is in great shape with ONLY A LITTLE AGE RELATED WEAR TO THE TOP RIM(see last photo) AND THE TIP OF THE SPOUT.
