A 19th Century George III Satinwood Tea Caddy.:

Of rectangular form, constructed from pine and veneered with exotic satinwood timber. The hinged cover incorporates a central recessed lock and inlaid escutcheon.
Internally, the caddy is subdivided and incorporates the original blue paper lining. The two integral compartments would originally have incorporated covers, (now missing).
Size - w. 7 1/2\" (190mm) x d. 5\" (127mm) x h. 4 1/4\" (108mm).Weight - 487 grams.
The overall condition is good - No cracks or chips to the veneer. Internally, the appearance and is consistent with age and usage. Great natural colour and patina.
