A-2 Jacket, Named Original Ww2 A-2 Jacket, Cbi Patch, Horsehide Jacket, Excl :
you are admiring a superb example of an original ww2 a-2 jacket. this jacket was made by rough wear clothing co. in 1942. the jacket is named to l.w. rusiski, who, i presume was assigned to the cbi material command. the jacket has a super nice material command patch on the front chest below what appears to be a gold leaf embossed name tag. on the left shoulder is an us-china shield, and on the back is an early type multi layer leather blood chit [some of the stitching on the blood chit has come undone-see pic]. there are numbers printed on the back of the liner, which has been repaired at some point. the condition of the horse hide shell is outstanding, by any measure, showing only surface abrasion and nicks. the knits are in better then average condition, however, beyond the normal mothing, the right side wrist knit will require some darning if the jacket is to be worn. yes, that is correct, this jacket is in such robust condition, it can be worn. interestingly, the jacket has an original to the jacket crown zipper [in excellent condition as seen in the close up], and the vast majority of the rough wear 27752 contract jacket were fitted with talon m-42 zippers. the jacket it tagged a size 40, however, please read the measurements submitted, as war time sizing is not the same as todays mall jacket sizing. pit to pit with the jacket laid flat: 21 3/4", front length: 23", sleeves from the shoulder seam to end of cuff: 25", back length from the bottom of the collar stand to the bottom of the waistband: 25 1/4", shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top back: 17".
