A full box with manuscript fragments from the 1500' and 1600's only, all written on vellum!From the collection and Estate of Prof. Dr. Joaquín Balcells y Pascual (1807-1879), a medical, physical, chemical scientist and Spanish mathematician born in San Martin de Provensals (Barcelona) in 1807 and died in Barcelona in 1879. Prof. Dr. Joaquín Balcells y Pascual (1807-1879)
Medical, physical, chemical and Spanish mathematician born in San Martin de Provensals (Barcelona) in 1807 and died in Barcelona in 1879.He graduated Bachelor of Pharmacy at the College of San Victoriano de Barcelona in 1822 and reached the degree and doctorate in 1832.
He studied physics and chemistry at the Royal College of San Fernando in Madrid. Back in Barcelona studied mathematics, shorthand and
Italian schools of the Board of Trade, the Environment in which transpire later scientific life. He was a professor of experimental
physics at the University of Cervera between 1830-1837, a period in experimental physics explained also applied to the arts in the
Board of Trade, and in 1851 was appointed professor of the same subject in Escuea of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona .Most publications are Balcells Joaquin chemical, one of the highlights was the meteoric Lhytología where inserted their fallen meteorite
analysis of Tarragona in the context of the use classifications. Regular contributor to magazines such as The Restorer Famacéutico Grower
and was author of several articles on scientific farming and winemaking, as well as some related to water analysis.
They are, however, his research around the cholera vibrio which makes him a prominent figure. During the cholera epidemic that struck
Europe between 1854 and 1856, researchers from three countries described independently of Vibrio cholerae, to the extent the European
mind was prepared for this discovery. This is the Italian Filippo Paccini, the Portuguese Coast Maceco Sinos and Pine, and Joaquín Balcells.
The items that Balcells released its finding was published by various scientific journals, including The Restorer Pharmaceutical and Medical

As promised, here now the detailed description.I have no time at all to repair all those manuscript fragments. So, I decided to put them alltogether
in a Lot of 20 items.All Manuscrpits are scrolls written on vellum in mostly poor condition.
I found the following date on it:
1584, 1593, 1552, 1542, 1592, 1584, 1539, 1598, 1556, 1512, 1544, 1534, 1541, 15??, 15??, 15??, 15??,so 17 items from the 1500'sand 1604, 1623, 16253 items from the 1600'sThe largest parchment scroll is ca. 65 x 50 cm, which is indeed huge!
