RECENTLYWE BOUGHT A SMALL COLLECTION OF GREAT OLD SHAKER PIECES, ALL IN ORIGINAL PAINT OR SURFACE FROM AN OLD COLLECTOR IN MASSACHUSETTS AND WILL BE OFFERING THEM OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
A WONDERFULEARLY 19TH CENTURY SHAKER TURNED WOODEN INKWELL IN GREAT OLD PATINA WITH TRACES OF THE ORIGINAL SHAKER CHROME YELLOW PAINT.Early 19th Century, in Maple. ATTRIBUTED TO THE ENFIELD, CONNECTICUT SHAKER COMMUNITY OF THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY. This piece was bought about 30 years ago in Enfield, CT from an old picker who bought out of the Enfield, CT Shaker Community in the 1920'-1930's.
Fantastic untouched, uncleaned, GRUNGY OLD SURFACE WITH TRACES OF THE ORIGINAL CHROME YELLOW PAINT.
It still retains both of its ORIGINAL HAND BLOWN GLASS INK JARS AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE ITS ORIGINAL CORK STOPPERS.
This great INKWELL is in NEAR PERFECT condition, there are NO splints or damages other than the usual wear and tear you would expect.
This is an extremely rare survivor.
