Fantasia Mining is very proud to offer for sale these beautiful faceted A Grade 12x8 mm Pear Amethysts. Our cutters craft these sparkling stones for us using the finest faceting rough and the latest technology with semi-automatic faceting machines.

Strict Stone Tolerance: Every single stone is hand checked right here in our Virginia office to ensure it is within our strict tolerances when they are delivered from our cutters. The accepted standard for colored gemstones is that the stone should be within 0.25 mm but we strive for perfection, so we have gone beyond this accepted standard and used a digital micrometer to hand check every stone and guarantee that it is within a 0.2 mm tolerance on both sides. While we guarantee a 0.2 mm tolerance, we have found that due to our expert cutters and only using the newest technology, an average of 80% of our stones are within 0.13 mm which is nearly two times better than the accepted standard!

We receive a lot of questions about why this is so important. Having a properly calibrated stone makes it easy for any jeweler to set in any calibrated setting without the need of customization. This saves you significantly on cost (sometimes literally hundreds of dollars) when you decide to have your stone set in jewelry since the setting will not need to be significantly altered by a jeweler to fit your stone!

Superior Color Grading: Natural Amethyst contains a variety of color shades and hues. At the same time as we check our tolerances, we also examine and hand grade every single stone for color. The stones are separated into three grades, our AAA grade, A grade, and B grade. During this process we also visually check the stones for windows or other negative characteristics, and if any are found the stone is removed as defective. We have included a comparison photograph at the bottom to show the difference in color between the three grades of Amethyst that we offer.
