This small statue captures a happy contented man smoking his pipe with his share of a bountiful catch at his feet. The details are amazing: from the facial expression, the wrinkles on his forehead to the folds of his apparel; from his cap & pipe to the wooden shoes; the sack of fishes, and the shells on the sand. Old world. The paint has tiny abrasions or nicks in some areas resulting in loss of paint. These are not chips and can be retouched easily. Most of these are seen on the folds of the pants front and back, right corner of the vest and suspender buttons. The back of the base is signed A Borsato. Two original stickers are present: a round blue foil sticker embossed with the globe and 3 columns Interco Made in Italy and a rectangular sticker: Porcellane e Gres d\'Arte A. Borsato Milano Made in Italy; also and ethc 6 III. 9 1/2\" tall. The base is 5\" to include protrusion of sack.
