A Very Early, Large & Rare Tessla Coil By Harvey & Peak, London.
Description: Offered is an early and substantial tessla coil by the London company Harvey and Peak. Tessla coils of this age are extremely rare especially ones from an English company. The set dates from around 1900 and is a complete tessla coil set minus the internal Leyden jar electrode rods.
The set is arranged on a massive solid French polished baseboard (66cm x 44cm). At the back are the two large Leyden jars each an impressive 45cm tall. The jars fit into two large brass holders. Infront of the jars is a heavy glass oil tank into which fits the the coil. The coil has a heavy gauge brass wire primary coil surrounded with a fine wire secondary coil. The oil tank appears to be used to keep the coil cool by immersing it in oil. At the front of the set is a ivorine plaque engraved;
