A Very Rare Incised and Carved Korean Celadon Ewer with Lid-13th C:

AVery Rare Incised and Carved Korean Celadon Ewer with Lid-13th C.:
Korea,Koryo Period, 12th -13th Century.

This rare shape of ewer has low mouth with a drop lid .( The existing lid is not original one to the ewer probably),

the body of globular form resting on raised circular base and molded

with a slightly curved spout and loop handle with attachment ring, the lid(not an original lid

with the ewer) is in the shape of an upside-down lotusflower,

the lid knob is in the form of a lotus blossom just unfurling from thebud. This ewer has a rich,

glossy grayish blue celadon glaze applied over alland 6 spur marks on the foot.

It is in very fine condition without any major damages except one tiny lid’srim and loop chip

(It is not an original matching lid for the ewer but from Koryo dynasty, 12th to 13th century).
