A Wonderful Antique Victorian Silver Chatelaine Perfume Flask/scent Bottle 1888 For Sale
A very pretty and elaborately chased Victorian sterling silvertear shape chatelaine scent flask /perfume bottle with hanging chain, the body engraved with flowers and leaves, the front with a blank cartouche, and fully hallmarked with the anchor for the assay town of Birmingham (struck horizontally denoting a pre 1900 small silver item) the lion passant for the sterling standard guarantee, the gothic date letter 'O' for the year 1888, and the the profile of Queen Victoria as duty mark. Maker's mark: J.G&S for John Grinsell & Sons.
A fabulous period piece for the collector in marvellous condition. No dents, splits or repairs. The screw in top also in excellent order and stamped with the Victorian duty mark.
