Anattractive Victorian gothic style bookslide, made from a dark stained wood, which may possibly be rosewood, and withbrass decoration on the ends in the form of shields surrounded by filigree work.This is a very attractive pieceand would hold books of the appropriate size.It is goodantique condition. The wood appears to be invery good condition gernerally for its age, with just some lightsigns of wear, to be expected. There seems to be a fine hairline crack to the top of one of the side pieces, but very stable and hardly noticeable except upon very close inspection.The slide measures approx. 13inches (33 cm) in length when closed and about 15.5 inches (41 cm) whenopened out to its full extent. BUT PLEASE NOTE: There is no stop to the middle section, so it would be best only opened part way, in which case it should be stable enough to support a row of books. The slide is 3 inches (7.5 cm) acrossthe sliding parts and 5 inches (12.75 cm) across the base.

Thiswould make a lovely addition to a period style desk or library.

POSTAGE: Our postage charges are estimated to thebest of our ability before the item is packed for shipping, based on actualRoyal Mail price charts. Therefore, if the actual shipping charge should proveto be significantly less, we will refund the difference in postage back to youvia Paypal. We always use Signed For or Insured services (unless you chooseotherwise on smaller value items). Although these do cost a little more, theyoffer better service and protection for items, so are worth the extra cost incase of any problems.

I will combine postage for multiple items,provided they can be safely packed together.
