A fine and rare pair of 19thC Japanese double walled reticulated Satsuma vases:

This rare pair of Satsuma vases is beautifully hand paintedin enamel with floral sprays on both levels of the vases, and with ornamentalmotifs to the rims.
One is bearing an old label to the base, with an inscription: “Pair of periodreticulated Satsuma vases late 18th Century ex Bowes co 22 1905”.
They are both 28 cm high, with baluster body with flared rim, and with twoapplied mask ring handles, with hexagonal reticulation to the outer wall, andwith cylindrical inner wall.
One vase is in perfect condition, with just crazing a gilt loss, with 1 firingimperfection to the base.
The other vase has 1 condition issue, but otherwise its perfect- it has had asection of the rim broken and re-glued, with a hairline leading from it. Thehairline is approx 4 cm long, break approx 5cm along the rim, and 2 cm down it,and also has a firing imperfection to the base.
