A Fine Tall English Cranberry Glass Decanter, Facetted Stopper, Circa 1870:
Antique glass in good taste – harmic.little A wonderfully attractive, tall and supremely elegant
English ruby / cranberry free-blown wine decanter
and stopper, the body beautifully etched with
trailing vine leaves and grapes; circa 1860 - 1880. Whether for display or personal use in your home, this is one of the most attractive decanters we have had the pleasure of offering on for some time. This decanter is tall, measuring approximately 13 ¾ inches with the stopper in place. It is free-blown and has a polished pontil mark on the center of the base (see photos). The bottle is overlaid with very attractive pink or red colored glass which has been engraved through to show the clear glass body beneath. The beautiful facetted stopper is completely original and is also colored to match. The condition is excellent with only one tiny flake on the rim edge and some small dings on the bottom edge of the stopper. There are some white sediment discolorations in the bottom which can probably be removed by soaking or good cleaning. There are no cracks and no restoration. A perfect decanter for an up-market dinner party or a fabulous display item. Thank you for offerding with harmic.little and good luck! Absolutely guaranteed authentic. Insurance is included with shipping.
