1972 Pontiac LeMans in Starlight Black Diecast Car 1:18

The year was 1972, and the GTO was no longer a standalone car, but an optional package on Pontiac’s LeMans coupes. The LeMans was Pontiac’s bread and butter intermediate sport coupe. The average Joe could spec out a LeMans with all the necessary performance options to create a GTO in disguise. This included the optional 455 HO engine from the GTO, the GTO’s Endura bumpers with the word “Pontiac” spelled out on the front grille rather than GTO, and the infamous ducktail spoiler. The idea to outfit the LeMans with the ducktail spoiler was inspired by Pontiac’s Firebird. However, only a few were built with this option when the only mold that existed that was used to produce the spoiler broke. Pontiac management at the time deemed it would be too expensive to make another mold, thus making the ducktail spoiler the rarest of these options.
