Up for sale with is a truly beautiful Antique English Silver Plate Floral pattern Covered Butter Dish, complete with the original insert. This beauty is top quality made by the very fine English firm of Charles Howard Collins. The Dish is very fancy with great finely Etched designs of Flowers and Scrolls to the lid and cast designs of Flowers and Shells all around the top of the base dish. The detail in the patterns is amazing, one of the finest examples I have sold in a very long time. The Dish is also in superb all original condition, really no apologies on this beauty ! The Butter Dish is an impressive size for display or use with a large family, measuring 8" across the top of the base dish and standing 5-1/2" tall. The Insert inside measures 6" across and it was designed to have ice water put underneath so your butter would not melt on even the hottest days, but you could also add hot water if you wanted to keep whatever you are serving nice and piping hot. Please take another look at the photos I am sure the new owner will love it as much as I do and if you can bare to part with it, it would make a fine and unique gift for someone special.
