Amazing Antique Lace Wedding Gown. French.rare & Very Beautiful. Must See For Sale

I am no expert when it comes to identification of antique lace, but when I found this beautiful gown packed away in a trunk of early textiles in a house clearance here in the South of France, I was blown away with the beauty of this fine lace, the flounce is an incredible 37.5" or 95cms deep and so very beautiful. I think that this maybe a wedding dress but I cannot say for sure, it seems strange that this magnificent lace has been sewn onto a quite plain muslin bodice, but maybe it was a world war 1 time wedding gown and make do and mend, Chanel was only too happy to use muslin in the war. The lace also trims the deep cuffs, one of these cuffs has some light brown staining and there is also a small amount of this staining on the neck, but this gown is exactly as I found it, it has not been washed. This gown is a huge size, obviously it would have been designed to be worn over a under dress but still from under arm to under arm it measures approx a huge 43" or 1m10, the length from neck line down is approx 59" or 1m50. There is insert lace around the neck and across the shoulders, it has been beautifully hand made, there has been a few small repairs to the gown over the years and maybe on close inspection you will find the odd tiny hole, but the amazing deep flounce of lace is in beautiful condition commensurate with it's age and could be reworked into a modern day wedding dress or some other wonderful antique textile project. Please feel free to ask questions, I am selling with a low starting price without reserve. Please note: before offerding!!! Please note: I did say that I was not sure if this was a wedding dress, well! knowledgeable s are now informing me that it is an "ALB" which is a religious garment worn by a priest over another garment. The church always used the finest of textiles, so this would make sense.
