Upfor saleis an American Decorative MouthBlown Glass Covered Cake Stand or Plate.This Cake Stand is handblown in abeautiful Amber color with thestriations and bubbles of mouth blown glass. The cover or lid has a wonderful pigtail knob on the top of the lid. The base of the standhas the atypical pontil mark from the glass ponty or punte rod used in mouthblowing. There are no chips, flea bites or cracks in either piece. Themeasurements are:

Thepiece is mid-century modern as it was wedding present to my Great Aunt in theearly 1950\'s from her West Virginia relatives. It has that look, feel and weight of Blenko but could be one of the othernumerous American Art Glassmanufacturers such as Duncan Miller,Fenton, Federal, Fostoria, Imperial, Indianaor Morgantown.
