An Exquisite Antique Victorian Solid Silver Christening Tankard.

This exquisite christening tankard has lovely embossed fruit in a basket decoration.

Engraved cartouche "EL?B" - 12th Aug 1858.

Then they had a baby and had her name & date engravedto either side of the cartouche.

"IDASep 4th - One Year Old 1891".

The tankard is hallmarked for Sheffield, date letter O for 1857, makers mark "MH&Co" (Martin, Hall& Co).

It has an old repair to the top rim edge, see photos & the handle has probably come away at some time & shows signs of being rejoined. But I don't think these things detract from this exquisite tankard because ofit's history.

Measurments

Height 9.3cm, Weight 94.2 grams.
